RFRain, Inc. (“RFRain,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the RFR-App (“App”) in connection with the RFRain Smart Handheld device and your RFRain Wireless System (RWS) account, whether hosted on our cloud servers or deployed on-premise.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the RFR-App who connect their RFRain Smart Handheld to an RWS account. By using the App, you agree to the collection and processing of your information as described in this policy.

Configuration and Usage Data: Information you input into the App for configuration, device management, or data storage.

2.2. Automatically Collected Information
Device Data: Model and serial number of your RFRain Smart Handheld, firmware versions, and device identifiers.
App Usage Data: Logs of system performance, connection times, and feature interactions within the App.
Network Data: IP address, network identifiers, and RWS connection details (cloud or on-premise).

2.3. Data from the RWS Platform
When the App connects to the RWS (RFRain Wireless System) platform—whether cloud-based or on-premise—it may transmit or synchronize:
Asset and tag data collected through RFID scanning.Device health metrics.User activity related to data capture, storage, and reporting.

3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
Provide and maintain services (e.g., synchronize data between the RFRain Smart Handheld and RWS).
Authenticate and secure user access to your RWS account.
Improve system performance and support troubleshooting.
Analyze aggregated usage data to enhance our products.
Comply with legal obligations or enforce terms of service.

4. Data Storage and Retention
Cloud Accounts
If you use an RFRain-hosted RWS account, your data is stored on secure cloud servers managed by RFRain or its authorized service providers.
On-Premise Accounts
If your RWS system is deployed on-premise, your organization controls all data storage and management. RFRain does not access or retain your information unless explicitly shared for support or diagnostics.
Data is retained only as long as necessary to fulfill operational, legal, or contractual obligations.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal data. However, we may share information with:
Authorized Service Providers: To support system hosting, maintenance, or analytics.
Your Organization: If your account is managed under a business or enterprise agreement.
Legal Authorities: When required by law or to protect RFRain’s rights and property.
All third parties are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.

6. Security
RFRain implements administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. This includes encryption of transmitted data and secure authentication protocols between the App and RWS.

The RFR-App is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

RFRain may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any changes will be posted within the App and on www.rfrain.com with a revised effective date.
